On the 24th of February, Estonia celebrates 103 years of independence. Our museum features an ever-growing collection of books which were censored or destroyed during the Soviet occupation. We are collecting these based on an extensive list of prohibited works published by the authorities in 1940 – come take a look to see if you might have one of these books still hidden in your attic!
Our collection also includes a beautiful 1937 copy of “Eesti vabadussõda” (“Estonian War of Independence”, which was the first donation we ever received. It now lives proudly at the heart of our museum.
